High-Octane Petrol Prices to Drop as LPG and Propane Costs Rise

Starting Saturday, October 31, motorists using high-octane 98 petrol will experience a decrease in fuel costs, as prices drop by 3.7 cents to €1.899 per litre. This change, effective from midnight on Friday, comes as a relief to drivers, offering some financial respite amidst fluctuating fuel prices.

However, consumers relying on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and propane will face higher costs over the weekend. The price of LPG is set to increase by 2.9 cents to €0.972 per litre, while residential propane will rise to €0.953 per litre. These adjustments reflect broader changes in fuel pricing that impact both transportation and household energy expenses.

The new pricing for other types of fuel also takes effect on October 31. EuroSuper 95 (E10) will be priced at €1.759 per litre, and diesel (B7) will remain at €2.11 per litre. Heating fuel will be available at €1.601 per litre, while bottled propane and bottled butane will be priced at €2.459 and €2.262 per kilogram, respectively.

These price changes mean that while some drivers may benefit from lower costs when refueling their vehicles with high-octane petrol, households relying on LPG and propane will need to budget for higher energy costs. The adjustments are part of a regular review of fuel prices, which considers various market factors affecting supply and demand.
