Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has unveiled a proposed initiative to support young workers by offering a €2,500 bonus to individuals under the age of 30. This measure is part of the government’s 2027 budget package, which amounts to €26 billion. The bonus aims to encourage employment among young Italians and help them build careers within the country.
In a statement following a cabinet meeting where the budget was approved, Prime Minister Meloni outlined that the bonus would be subject to a minimal tax rate of just 1%. Recipients of this bonus would have the option to receive it either in 12 monthly installments or as a lump sum, providing flexibility in how the funds can be utilized.
The initiative is designed to address employment challenges faced by young Italians and to reduce the trend of young professionals seeking opportunities abroad. By providing financial incentives, the government hopes to retain young talent and strengthen their commitment to building a future in Italy.
Meloni emphasized the government’s dedication to supporting the professional futures of young workers, aiming to make them feel valued and supported. This proposal is part of a broader strategy to tackle employment issues and enhance job prospects for younger generations in Italy.
